How to Determine if the Original ELV Unit is Damaged:

1. Launch the Xhorse VVDI MB software.

2. Connect the Mercedes ELV to the VVDI Mercedes programmer or use a Mercedes steering lock tester.

3. Navigate to the VVDI Mercedes ESL tools tab.

4. Select Mercedes W204, W207, W212.

5. Choose to read the Mercedes ESL by OBD.

6. Click "read Mercedes ESL data".

7. Click "check Mercedes ESL damage for W204".

8. If it displays "Mercedes ESL is damaged", consider replacement options. If it indicates the ELV is functional, it suggests the Mercedes ESL motor is damaged and should be replaced.

How to Use the Mercedes Steering Lock Emulator:

1. Launch the Xhorse VVDI MB software.

2. Connect the Mercedes ELV using the VVDI Mercedes programmer or a Mercedes steering lock tester.

3. Navigate to the VVDI Mercedes ESL tools tab.

4. Select Mercedes W204, W207, W212.

5. Choose the option to read the Mercedes ESL by OBD.

6. Click on "read Mercedes ESL data."

7. Click on "check Mercedes ESL damage for W204."

9. If the ESL is working but the motor is damaged, replace the steering lock motor.
