Installation Steps

1. Download the Barracuda setup file from the official Scorpio-LK downloads page.
2. Extract and run the setup file. The software will install to the following default locations:
   • Windows XP: C:\Program Files\Scorpio-LK\Barracuda\
   • Windows 7 / 8 / 10: C:\Program Files (x86)\Scorpio-LK\Barracuda\
   • The software may be installed to a custom location, provided the path ends with ..\Scorpio-LK\Barracuda
3. Open Windows Device Manager.
4. Connect the Barracuda programmer to your PC via USB.
5. In Device Manager, locate the newly detected entry under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers", right-click it, and select Properties → Driver → Update Driver. Navigate to the driver folder at ..\Scorpio-LK\Barracuda\Driver and select the appropriate subdirectory for your operating system.
6. Locate Barracuda.exe (or its desktop shortcut), right-click it, and select Properties → Compatibility → Run this program as Administrator. ⚠️ This step is mandatory on Windows 7, 8, and 10.
7. Launch Barracuda.exe. An automatic update process will initiate and prompt you to download the latest software version. Follow the on-screen instructions. Steps 8 and 9 below run automatically — do not interact with the interface while they are in progress. Depending on your internet connection speed, this may take several minutes.
8. Once the latest software version is downloaded, Barracuda.exe will close and relaunch automatically to begin the firmware update. If it does not relaunch with the updated version, administrator privileges have not been properly assigned — revisit Step 6.
9. After the firmware update is complete, Barracuda.exe will relaunch and proceed to update the auxiliary help files and built-in hardware timer.
10. Once the timer reset is complete, restart Barracuda.exe to finalize the setup process.
