How to Use the Xhorse Mini OBD Tool

The Mini OBD Tool provides a complete end-to-end workflow for generating and programming a fully functional vehicle key:

• Step 1 — Read vehicle data including VIN and immobilizer information via OBD using the Mini OBD Tool and Key Tool Max
• Step 2 — View remote and transponder chip information for the connected vehicle directly on the Key Tool Max — use this data to instantly generate the correct chip and key
• Step 3 — View the correct keyway on the Key Tool Max, then cut the blade on the Condor Dolphin based on your Lishi pick readings
• Step 4 — Return the completed key to the vehicle and perform immobilizer programming using the Mini OBD Tool and Key Tool Max
• Step 5 — Job complete

The diagnostic software suite also supports reading and clearing check engine codes, ABS system modifications, TPMS adjustments, ECM performance tuning, and additional functions.

Toyota 8A IMMO Box All Keys Lost

Supports master key generation via OBD and file-based master key creation — Xhorse Toyota 8A AKL Adapter is required for OBD method.

How to Update the VVDI Mini OBD Tool

Two update methods are available:

• Update via Xhorse App
• Update via Xhorse Upgrade Kit (PC method)

Updating Firmware via Wi-Fi

Step 1 — Connect to Wi-Fi Power on the Mini OBD Tool and ensure it is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network with a strong signal to allow the firmware download to complete without interruption.

Step 2 — Open the Xhorse App Launch the Xhorse app on your phone or tablet and navigate to the firmware update section. The current firmware version will be displayed — a red dot or notification will appear if an update is available.

Step 3 — Start the Update Tap the update prompt, select the latest firmware version, and begin the Wi-Fi update. The tool will automatically download and install the new firmware. Keep the device connected and do not power it off during the update process.

Step 4 — Wait for Completion The update process takes a few minutes. Once complete, the device will confirm successful installation and the Mini OBD Tool will be ready to use with the latest firmware.

Troubleshooting Tips

• If the update fails or times out, restart the Mini OBD Tool, reconnect to Wi-Fi, and try again
• Ensure the Wi-Fi connection remains strong and stable throughout the entire update process
