The VVDI MLB Tool does not clone keys. The add key process involves three steps: reading the vehicle data, generating a dealer key, and completing key learning. The tool calculates the CS value from the existing key to produce a dealer key, which is then used to add a new key via OBD using either VVDI2 or VVDI Key Tool Plus — simply load the saved file generated by the MLB Tool to initiate the key learning process.

Points Deduction Policy

Points are consumed in the following two scenarios:

1. Adding a Key — Points are deducted to calculate the required IMMO data during the key adding process

2. Key Recovery — When a second-hand key has been initialized and unlocked but no longer holds its original IMMO data, points are deducted to collect and recalculate the IMMO data before the key can be restored

MQB48 NEC35XX IMMO Data Collection Reads IMMO data directly from a working key on the MQB48 platform, enabling key addition without disassembling the instrument cluster for bench reading.

Key Adding for MLB Models Supports add key functions for Audi, Porsche, Volkswagen, Lamborghini, Bentley, and other MLB platform vehicles.

No Chip Removal Required Key data calculation requires only the removal of the key shell — the chip itself does not need to be extracted. An integrated 22K reader enables wireless key reading and writing without shell removal.

Wireless Key Generation Generates both original dealership keys and Xhorse specialized keys wirelessly for a faster and more convenient workflow.

Built-in IMMO Detection The integrated IMMO detection module supports wireless key recognition for quick and accurate identification.

VVDI MLB Tool — Key Requirements

• Unlocked / Uninitialized — With ID: Key can be generated directly and used immediately for key learning

• Unlocked / Uninitialized — Without ID: Allows a one-time ID change before proceeding with key generation

• Unlocked / Initialized: Key can be restored to an unlocked and uninitialized state by calculating the anti-theft data — no ID required

• Locked / Initialized: Original key cannot be unlocked — VVDI dedicated MLB key support coming soon

MLB Tool Software

Users must bind the MLB Tool with the Xhorse App to enable online IMMO data calculation. To complete binding, navigate to Special Function, select Bind Device, and scan the QR code to link the device.

MLB PC Software is required when you use with vvdi2. If use with vvdi key tool plus, connect MLB-Tool with KTP via the OTG converter. Then you collect key data, make dealer key and learn key all in the key tool plus. 

VVDI MLB Tool — Wiring Diagram Types 1 to 6

Chip removal is not required. However, two 100nF capacitors must be removed and a cable soldered to the original key following the color-coded wiring diagram corresponding to the applicable type.

One capacitor located near the IC position must be removed, and socket cables soldered to the original key following the applicable wiring diagram.
