Module & Key Synchronization Detection

Verifies whether the CAS2 module and the mechanical key are correctly synchronized.

Step 1: Connect the CAS2 module to the platform following the provided connection diagram.

Step 2: Place the mechanical key into the designated key sensing area.

Step 3: Connect the power supply.

Step 4: Press the start switch to power on the CAS module and initiate automatic synchronization detection. Press the start switch again to power off the CAS module and end the detection.

Synchronization Status Guide:

  • CAS module key induction coil indicator flashes regularly – The key and CAS2 module are synchronized.
  • CAS module key induction coil indicator flashes quickly for 2 seconds only – The key is not synchronized with the CAS2 module.
  • IMMO synchronization indicator lights up + internal buzzer sounds – Key is successfully synchronized with the CAS module.
  • IMMO synchronization indicator does not light up + no buzzer sound – Key is not synchronized with the CAS module.

Step 5: Press and hold the analog start/stop button. The IMMO synchronization indicator light and the INDUC sensor indicator light will both turn off after 3 seconds. Upon releasing the button, the IMMO synchronization indicator will reactivate and the INDUC sensor indicator will resume flashing.

CAS1 module and key synchronization detection

  • Connect the device following the provided connection diagram. Use a 12V 2.5A power supply to ensure the CAS1 module is driven correctly. ⚠️ Do not connect the CAS2 module during this procedure.
  • Press the start switch — the START-STOP indicator light on the CAS unit will illuminate to confirm activation.
  • Insert the mechanical key into the CAS1 module.
  • Press the CAS1 key to initiate synchronization detection:
    • Key locks in place – The key is synchronized with the CAS1 module.
    • Automatically exits – The key is not synchronized with the CAS1 module.

CAS2 Mechanical Key Programming with Xhorse VVDI2

The following steps demonstrate how to perform BMW CAS2 mechanical key programming and matching using the Xhorse VVDI2 device.

  1. Connect the CAS2 mechanical key module to the Xhorse VVDI2 programming device following the provided connection diagram. Press the start button to supply power to the CAS2 module.

  2. On the VVDI2, navigate to: Key Learn → CAS/EWS Information → Connect → Read EEPROM

⚠️ Important: Remove the key from the key sensing area before initiating the data reading process. Do not perform synchronization detection between the key and the CAS2 module prior to connecting. Simply press the start button to power the CAS module. If the CAS module detects a synchronized key during this step, the connected device will be unable to read the data.

    Save to File...

To read or modify the CAS mileage, navigate to the "Read KM" menu and follow the on-screen instructions. The device also supports reading the CAS code and DME data through the same interface.

  3. To begin key programming, navigate to: Key Learn → CAS Key Learn → Connect, then select "Get Key Info" followed by "Save Key Info" to retrieve and store the existing key data.
  4. Select an available unused key position, then navigate to "Prepare Dealer Key with Programmer". Use the VVDI2 programmer to generate the new dealer key.

⚠️ Important: Do not place the key in the GODIAG BMW CAS1 / CAS2 Mechanical Key Test Platform key sensing area during this step, as the dealer key will not be generated successfully while the key is detected by the platform.

  5. Once the dealer key has been programmed, place it into the GODIAG BMW CAS1 / CAS2 Mechanical Key Test Platform sensor port to verify synchronization. For detailed testing steps, refer to the "Module and Key Synchronization Detection" section.

If the newly programmed key fails the synchronization check, reconnect the device and module, then press "Check the Start Switch" to re-initiate detection.

If the IMMO indicator light still fails to illuminate, navigate to the VVDI2 menu: Key Learn → CAS/EWS Information → Connect → Synch DME-CAS or Synch CAS-ELV to complete the synchronization process.

⚠️ Important: During the synchronization procedure, the key must be placed in the VVDI2 device's key sensing programming area — not in the GODIAG platform.

BMW CAS1 Key Programming with Xhorse VVDI2

The following steps demonstrate how to perform BMW CAS1 key programming and matching using the Xhorse VVDI2 device.

  1. Connect the CAS1 module to the Xhorse VVDI2 programming device following the provided connection diagram. Press the START switch on the GODIAG BMW CAS1 / CAS2 Mechanical Key Test Platform — the POW indicator light will illuminate, confirming that the test platform is supplying power. The indicator light on the CAS1 module will also activate.

⚠️ Important: Use a 12V 2.5A power supply to ensure sufficient power delivery to the CAS1 module. Insufficient power supply will prevent the CAS1 module from operating correctly.

  2. On the VVDI2, navigate to: Key Learn → CAS/EWS Information → Connect → Read EEPROM

⚠️ Important: Do not insert the key during this step. If data cannot be read, disconnect and reconnect the device, then power the platform back on before retrying.

⚠️ Note: Do not perform a synchronization test between the key and the CAS1 module prior to this step, as doing so will prevent the device from connecting or reading data successfully. If a synchronization test was already performed, disconnect the power supply, then reconnect both the device and the CAS1 module before proceeding.

⚠️ Important: The dealer key cannot be generated while the key is inserted in the CAS1 module key identification socket or placed in the GODIAG BMW CAS1 / CAS2 Mechanical Key Test Platform key sensing area. Ensure the key is removed from both before proceeding.

  5. Once the dealer key has been successfully programmed, insert it into the CAS1 module key socket to verify synchronization. For detailed testing steps, refer to the "CAS1 Module and Key Synchronization Detection" section.

If the IMMO indicator light fails to illuminate, navigate to the VVDI2 menu: Key Learn → CAS/EWS Information → Connect → Synch DME-CAS or Synch CAS-ELV to complete the synchronization process.

⚠️ Important: During the synchronization procedure, the key must be placed in the VVDI2 device's key sensing area — not in the GODIAG platform or CAS1 module socket.
