Overview of IMMO Programming

• The KEY TOOL MIDI connects to vehicles via an OBD cable to perform immobilizer (IMMO) programming and diagnostic operations on a wide range of car brands, including Benz, BMW, Audi, VW, Toyota, Honda, Ford, BYD, and more.
• After entering the IMMO programming menu (Fig. 5.1.1), users can select their vehicle's brand and model. The device supports IMMO programming for nearly all global models and OBD diagnostics for selected brands.

IMMO Programming Features

Once a vehicle model is selected, the available OBD programming options will appear. Some models may have multiple immobilizer systems—users can try each manually or let the tool detect it automatically. Main IMMO functions include:

• Smart Key Programming – Add new keys via OBD.
• Write PIN Code – Enter PINs for immobilizer setup.
• Write VIN – Input the vehicle’s VIN into the system.
• Exit IMMO Mode – Manually exit the immobilizer if the automatic exit fails.
• Read Key Data – View existing key info.

Vehicle Diagnostics

• The KEY TOOL MIDI also offers OBD diagnostics for many brands. From the diagnostics menu, users can select supported vehicle models. If automatic system detection fails, manual selection is available. Key diagnostic functions include:

KEY TOOL MIDI supports a wide range of transponder chip operations:

• Chip Detection – Identify common transponder types: 11, 12, 13, 33, 42, 46, 40, 48, 8A, 8C.
• Chip Cloning – Some chips (like ID48 for VW) can be cloned online without vehicle programming.
• Chip Generation – Create new chips from scratch using VVDI Super Chips.

For example, a VVDI Super Chip can be converted into a Toyota 8A transponder for vehicle programming (Fig. 6.2.3).

Additionally, the device can read advanced data such as:

How to Update

• Connect to Wi-Fi:

Go to Settings → WLAN Connection → Select the network and enter the password.

• Access Update Center:

Tap the Update icon on the home screen (Fig. 4.1.3).

Navigate to More → Update Center.

• Update Sequence:

System Update → App Update → Firmware Update → Database Update (must be done in order).

• Database Updates:

Updated independently after core upgrades. Tap Database Update → Update to sync latest vehicle coverage.
